About Rome
Rome attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a senior in 2019, Rome was named Gatorade Football Player of the Year for Nevada after recording 54 catches for 1,222 yards and 15 touchdowns. His high school career totaled 121 receptions for 2,699 yards and 31 touchdowns. Rome also stood out on the track team at Bishop Gorman winning the 4A state title in the 200 meters (21.25) and the 4 x 100 relay (41.36) and finished fourth in the 100 (10.67) in 2019.
Rome committed to the University of Washington to play college football and has never looked back. As a true freshman at Washington in 2020, Odunze played in all four games and had six receptions for 72 yards. As a sophomore in 2021, he started seven of nine games, recording 41 receptions for 415 yards and four touchdowns. In 2022, Rome played in 12 of 13 games, starting eight. He led the Huskies in receiving with 1,145 yards and was second in receptions with 75. Rome led the Pac-12 in receiving yards and was second in receptions per game. Romes 2022 performance of 1,145 yards was fifth-most in UW single-season history… all while missing a game early on in the season. His 2022 season honors included: All-Pac-12 First Team, All-Pac-12 First Team (Associated Press, Phil Steele), All-American Third Team (Associated Press, Pro Football Focus), All-America Fourth Team (Phil Steele), CSC Academic All-District, Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll, PFF All-Pac-12 First Team, Pro Football Network All-Pac-12 First Team.
